does anyone know if all the 6th graders in humanities program will be kept together for PE .math and science that was a huge issue in clemente, science was a joke for humanities kids!
They're not, at Clemente. Why would that change?
because that caused hue issues in science PE classes in clemente ,a step forward to better choice/scheduling
A few years ago, it was hard to push back against this at Clemente - the adminstration really wanted to prevent a "school within an school" feeling. That wasn't going to happen, but they tried. Now that the program is moving, maybe it will work to advocate for this. A few years ago, I think parents had to be careful to couch requests for non-magnet class grouping as being beneficial for all highly able students, not in terms of magnet students vs non magnet students. Maybe the MLK admin will be more receptive to fostering the program itself vs. the school as a whole.
