Ok, you want priorities? In 2009-10, healthcare reform IS a higher priority than gun violence.  Healthcare saved many more people than died from guns. In 2009-10, the financial crisis Republicans created IS a higher priority than gun safety. More people would die from a financial collapse than from gun violence.

So yeah, Democrats spent all their political capital and time getting those items passed. Does that mean gun safety isn’t a priority? nope.

This. No one answered the first question in the thread, but the actual supermajority was only a few months long due to the 7-month delay seating Franken after the recount, the illnesses of Byrd and Kennedy, and Kennedy’s death. It was nowhere close to two years. And even two years would be nowhere close to enough time to fix everything the Republicans did wrong from 1981 onward.
