This is all well and good if everything that goes into buying and selling homes is always super smooth, no inspection issues, easy negotiations, etc. Your eagerness to discount the worth of what a real estate agent does is pretty astonishing. [b]As if all they do is open a locked door for you, show you a house, give you a contract and walk away[/b]. There is so much more that goes into it. You have either had a bad experience with an agent or have not been properly informed. The agent's job every step of the way is to protect you, the client so that your best interests are first and you get the maximum amount possible in the deal. [/quote]

That's all mine did. I had to interface with the surveyor, underwriters, lenders, and builder myself. They even showed up late to closing. [/quote]

This.  Not to mention I don’t want a real estate agent doing much for me if anything.  They aren’t lawyers and aren’t able to offer legal advice which to me means they are worthless. [/quote]
