I disagree. I think that the later parts of season 7, when Nina is in a stable relationship but grappling with her career, were necessary to get her to a place where she’s not quite so much of a train wreck. I was practically cheering when she nailed her job interview.

I also think Billie settling into a successful job was good, although I found her romance in season 7 absurd. I agree some of the storylines aere unnecessary — Geraldine’s in particular — but I appreciated the maturation of the main family members. I will desperately miss the show but also hope they don’t do a season 8, since everyone seems like they’re in a good place now. [/quote]
