This is us  exactly. Our two dogs love the cold and will play in the yard in snow, but the ice and salt on their paws is a no go. Same thing happened to us yesterday--the sitting. 
Oh well. At least I feel less guilty for NOT wanting to take them.

Same here.  The cold doesn't seem to matter much to my dog but the salt and ice melt chemicals are really hurting him.  We are playing LOTS of fetch and tug o war indoors and giving him lots of chewy and puzzle treats to keep him occupied.  Walks are brief potty breaks and we're washing his feet as soon as we get indoors.[/quote]
