My 9 yo was diagnosed with apraxia/dyspraxia at age 3. Based on behavior and tantrums, I was positive that he wold eventually be diagnosed with ADHD. In the interim, we tried the Feingold diet and it made a huge difference. By age 5, he was an entirely different kid. His apraxia/dyspraxia was considered resolved at 7. He has no ADHD.
OP here. I never heard of this diet. I am going to research it! I cant imagine my DS's dyspraxia being resolved because despite therapies, with age its feeling worse. Would love for it to resolve though!!
I’m the PP. To clarify, diet had no impact on apraxia/dyspraxia. That was years of intensive therapy. Between ST and OT he had as many as 5 sessions a week. Plus, I worked really hard with him at home to replicate therapy sessions. The diet only helped with behavior and emotional dysregulation.
Thanks for clarifying. I need all the help I can get with the behavior!
