OP— there are a lot of options. It depends n how much money you can or want to throw at the problem.  There is!athinasium type places.  There are private tutors.

A low cost and effective option that has not been mentioned is TJ.  A lot of kids there volunteer to tutor in less affluent FCPS ESs near campus during 8th period and there are a number of STEM outreach programs through the school.  Part of TJs mission is STEM outreach.  Call the school.  You probably want to talk to 8th period or the math department or guidance— all three help match tutors.  If you can’t afford to pay a tutor at all, ask if there are any resources in your area or a way to find a student volunteer.  If you need afford to pay $20 an hour, they can help match you up with. Good, low cost tutor.

I have a TJ kid. He would love to meet your kid at the library and earn some spending money.  He would love to volunteer.  If he didn’t love to volunteer, I would remind him that TJ is an enormous gift FCPS has given him. And with the gift comes the responsibility to give back to the taxpayers supporting his education.
