OP here. I am definitely going to seek out a therapist. Tonight was a complete debacle before trick-or-treating. I simply wanted a picture of the 3 kids. My son simply refused, made it difficult until I lost it. I need to learn how to not let these things bother me. I just feel like I do a ton of stuff for him - for instance tonight we had a party with all the neighbors, and there is zero appreciation/ refusal to cooperate. I am getting the feeling that there is some true anxiety going on. Even tonight, he came in to tell me how some kid was bothering him. He was in tears. And I agree with the PP, I do truly wonder about bullying/social issues.
Op, Read this book: https://www.amazon.com/Solving-Executive-Function-Challenges-Unstuck/dp/1598576038/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1509673219&sr=8-1&keywords=solving+executive+function+challenges Although it was developed for kids on the spectrum the scripts the parents can use can be generalized too all kinds of kids. For your kid I would definitely do the unstuck and target class at ivymount b/c they have the parenting class. Having btdt, I think you and your kid will get more out of it than therapy.
