The dudes are toxic and have to get past it some how, but when you're starving, of course you're going to obsess over food. I don't blame women at all for what assholes these guys are, but I'm not surprised that they obsessed.

Also, I don't think it's female approval they *really* want if you get down to it. They care more about the status having a woman, particularly an attractive woman, gives men among other men. Toxic masculinity is bad for almost everyone. [/quote]
