Yes, that is my point.  It's been around since the 1950s.  Therefore, it is not a fad.  No idea what "good try though" is supposed to mean here, but I can't understand how you thought reiterating my comment was refuting it either.[/quote]

Everything is cyclical. I grew up in a house full of what is now called MCM stuff and I couldn't get away from it fast enough. It's been around but it was out of style for a long time.

I always found it cold and not at all welcoming or comfortable. I was lucky enough to have access to a lot of grandparental furniture which my kids like and enjoy also.

People should get what they like and what makes their place feel like home to them. Don't worry about what is in style.
