In all my childhood and adolescence, I never once heard a homily on abortion or birth control. I heard a lot the focused on loving your neighbor, caring for the poor, working for justice, seeking and offering forgiveness, and strengthening your faith. These are values that other faiths share. I have been to services at other churches, and certainly had my Catholic beliefs reinforced, because the officiant talked about love, justice, faith, and forgiveness. [/quote]
