This is OP, thank you.

My child has dyslexia but has done well in elementary so far, we were told that she couldn't take English Honors though, I didn't question it since I thought it had to do with her having dyslexia.

Math has not been any area of concern at all but like I stated before she's average but smart and not in need of remediation but I wouldn't say she is accelerated in the math, she's been doing Level 2/3 but still what I would consider to be on grade level.

I don't understand why being on grade level equates to being in a regular Math 7 class that is pretty much mostly for students in need of remediation.  If I ask for her to be placed in Math 7 Honors, she would have to skip a grade of math.

It's really frustrating trying to navigate all this, especially since it seems that each school in FCPS handles this differently and the course descriptions are incredibly vague.

Lots of resources of highly special needs or academically gifted but the "Average" student in FCPS is left behind.
