Did you ask him to turn it on and he refused?
No, and maybe that was my mistake. Every other uber I've taken has had it but I wasn't sure if this was an expectation. Or requirement or just the driver's preference. The car was also dirty and smelled like crap-so I just wanted to get out without causing a scene.
Please tell me you gave the driver a lower rating.
Yes. Not only because of the AC but for a dirty car and because he continually kept asking me which way to go. I don't know! I'm not the driver!
Good! I hate when obviously sh*tty drivers have high ratings because everyone is so afraid of giving out bad ratings. It doesn't help that Uber makes a big fuss for anything less than a 5, making the customer feel like they're being a bad guy by simply rating the driver accurately.
Did you just make this up?
No I didn't make this up, that would be such a stupid thing to lie about. Quite a few people I know feel guilted if they give an accurate yet poor rating of a driver since it prompts the app to immediately ask well why was it so bad, what was the problem, what did the driver do wrong? So it makes it seem as if 5 stars are deserved unless the driver was absolutely abysmal. Also, why should I need to explain a 3 star rating? 3 stars is right in the middle, most drivers should fall in the middle. I don't want to have to go through a process of justifying my rating if the driver was just ok. But no such justification is required or asked for if you give 5 stars when really, shouldn't you be asked what the driver did that really amazing beyond all expectations? Truly top tier? Because that's what 5 stars should be.
Are you thinking about Lyft or Uber? Because Uber app did not prompt you to tell why you give a bad rating until Tuesday of this week. Even now the choices are already there and you select one. No explanation.
No I'm thinking of Uber. The change earlier this week was to allow you to clarify if the poor rating was related to the driver or not.
