If this is indeed true, what would stop tons of families from renting 1 year in-bounds for the Deal/Wilson feeder school of their choice, and then moving out and getting grandfathered in all the way through Wilson?  I thought that once you move OOB, you must register at your new in-bounds school, with the only exception being that you were already OOB?[/quote]

Nothing would stop it, other than it is a PITA to do, and not inexpensive. This is a new policy -- just released in Jan 2017 via the handbook publication. It's too soon to see if what you describe is actually happening.

Trying to get your kids to and from Murch/Eaton/Deal/Wilson wherever when you bought a more affordable home in Petworth/Brightwood/Bloomingdale AND you have to get yourself to and from work would make this really tough long term.[/quote]
