I agree, I think you should go.  I would want to be there for anything that requires general anesthesia.  I know parents often say not to come, but I have also seen that they are happy when you come and it is the extra help and having someone extra to stop by the [b]pharmacy[/b], etc.     I would definitely get child care though, don't bring your child.
