+1 on this. My experience with Singapore Math was that it taught a concept, practiced that concept to mastery, and then tested and reviewed that concept. It just did this really, really well. Beast Academy explores a concept and then pushes it into al sorts of crazy directions. I'm s never explicitly reviewed or tested. Although it will be worked naturally into more advanced problems. ( for example, you learn regular shapes and perimeter. Later you may be asked to find the perimeter knowing one side of an octagon. The lesson is multiplication, but you are reviewing shapes and perimeter)

The assumption for grade 3 is that you are already fluent with addition and subtraction. There's a point in grade 3 where you are told to basically come back when you know the times tables. Grade 2 isn't out yet, so perhaps they will approach regrouping a similar way.[/quote]
