I am debating between these two right now. I originally was going to go with Edgecombe Gray but it turns a purpley brown in certain lights. Yesterday the sample board I have was showing a cold blue during the day with no lights on. Pale Oak is lighter and seems very pretty and fresh. It does seem to go a little lavender at times. If you have used it, have you noticed any undertones? My room has a northern exposure and it's been very hard to find a color that will work! Unfortunately, our granite is gray and and any cream based color clashes with it. Thanks in advance.
I painted and placed drywall pieces of BM Revere Pewter, Edgecomb Gray and Pale Oak around my house for weeks before choosing. I like BM Pale Oak too. In the end, I choose Revere Pewter for my northern exposure rooms and it worked out great without any green undertone: the depth was needed. I painted a huge foyer, LR and halls Edgecomb Gray and get nothing but compliments-these are west, east/west exposures. No lavender undertones, just a nice amicable griege.
