Without conviction, judge would have ordered 50:50 custody split as there was no indication that Weiner had met any of these women in person or was a danger to his own child.   In fact, since Weiner was caring for child while Abedin was on campaign, she risked getting less than 50% custody as she was not primary caretaker.

Since Weiner was not employed and was primary caretaker of child, she also risked having to pay him alimony.

Since he will be going to jail, she will now get full custody and supervised visitation without a fight and she will not have to pay him any alimony.

I'm sure it was hard for her to wait, but it really was the smartest move, which I'm sure her attorney advised her.[/quote]
