The fact that you had to bring a suitcase filled with snacks underscores the ridiculousness of Atlantis.

There are tons of better places to spend your money. Why pick that resort?

My biggest beef with them is that they are a cruise ship destination. Day passes are sold to cruise trippers as well as people staying at other nearby hotels. The resort is overcrowded and overpriced for what it is. You pay Ritz Carlton prices for McDonald's level of food and service. [/quote]

Single mom. I do that everywhere I go. I budget everything. Fly southwest with free luggage and always have come have a suitcase for snacks. I refuse to pay $3-$5 for bottled water. Nonetheless, my now 9 year old talks about it every single week (and it was 2.5 years ago).[/quote]

Why do you need bottled water at a resort? The water in the Bahamas is safe to drink, and they don't charge you for a cup of tap water.

We sometimes bring snacks on trips (even more so when our kids were young and picky), but Atlantis takes it to a whole different level. There are threads about packing an entire suitcase with food. Why? Because everyone knows the food there is terrible and overpriced. [/quote]
