Yes, there are lots of teachers who give extra recess as an incentive.  You might see something that looks like this on the board: ____ ____ ____ ____ ____ ____ , and the class earns a letter at a time and when they earn all the letters in the word "recess" they get extra recess. It's a strategy that is used often. [/quote]
