We are at a Title 1 school with lots of kids on FARMs.  No school means no meals often times.  In the summer, our local church (not mine, I'm not a churchgoer) does free meals so the kids have somewhere to go eat when school is out.

Ask those kids - they will tell you there is a big effect.  [/quote]

+1. Since when did responsibility for kids being able to eat shift from parents to schools? It's really time to put the responsibility back on parents. If you can't afford to feed your kid 2 meals for one day then you really shouldn't be having more kids. [/quote]
