Well, the point of a registry is that you buy what they have picked out. Who on earth would pick something different? It doesn't get noted on the registry as a substitute. You have to select the items there, from that store for the system to work...[/quote]

My cousin asked for the ever popular Kitchen Aid mixer.  An aunt emailed everyone in the family to let us know she'd purchased this item from a different location on sale.  Flash forward to after the wedding, my cousin and I were hanging out and she showed me her brand new Kitchen Aid mixer from Aunt P.  Except it wasn't a Kitchen Aid mixer.  It was Hamilton Beach stand mixer from Walmart or Target.  :lol:  She was counting on a family member to buy that for her because all of her friends were younger, new college grads who didn't have that kind of gift money.
