It also depends on the severity of the allergy, and how much time he spends at your house. I have a moderate cat allergy, so I can be in a house/room with cats for a few hours and be fine if I've taken an allergy pill beforehand (Allegra, Claritin, Zyrtec - all OTC and would be easy for your BF to try). If I pet the cat, I have to wash my hands immediately. I wouldn't be able to do an extended stay (more than a day) without having symptoms. OTOH, I know someone with such a severe cat allergy they can't be in a "cat house" for an hour, even with meds. [/quote]
