Again, no.  Nope.  Sorry.  Both of you PPs (and the others) sound completely out of touch.  Must be nice to live in that bubble of privilege.

Do you think gang issues only affect poor, immigrant kids?  First off, even if they do then it's still reason to be concerned.

But, they do not.  Gang issues affect the whole county.  My friend owns a business in Rockville.  They've had a few incidences of theft over the past 2 years.  The police seem to think it's related to gang activity.  They steal these items from various stores around the county (that my friend is in business selling) and resell online as a source of income.

They don't just stick to Gaithersburg/Silver Spring.  They *gasp* even go to wealthier areas, to find even better 'products' to sell online.

So, gang activity in one part of the county should be a concern for everyone in the county.  Saying that you're not afraid to send your 'affluent' kids to school so OP shouldn't be concerned, is pretty short-sighted, IMO.  [/quote]
