This is why I don't go to drybar.  They fry your hair!  You need to find a stylist who will blowout your hair but use some caution and not fry it.  Drybar doesn't have any vested interest in your hair - they just want it to look good post blowout.  They don't care if they damage it.  Someone at a salon you see on a regular basis will care. I'm the PP who was confused and I am 44 years old, for whatever reason someone wanted to know. This is why I was confused-while I do go to a blow dry bar (not my salon) for my blowouts, I always see the same person. She shampoos/conditions, then combs out (very carefully and with a very wide comb), then blow drys with a good round brush, does not put the blow dryer right up to my hair-etc. She blow drys just like I do and is very careful with my hair.  She isnt one of the "kids" who works at the blow dry bar--she's a prior hairdresser.  
So yeah, I guess if someone does not care and ruins your hair, that would be bad...[/quote]
