I hear ya Op. I feel the same way about runners. I run outside daily , in all the elements, and it drives me insane when the new year resolutions folks hit the same trail - no etiquette, wearing their over priced athletic wear, total novices bc they are over dressed (ear muffs, really?/Jacket and long sleeve shirt, cmon?), and hogging up the trail/sidewalk by leisurely running in the middle, and busy checking their music play list not to notice others around them. Do they not realize what cheeseballs they are?
I run outside daily as well and I felt similarly back in my self-centered 20s. Now, In my mid-30's, after marriage, a couple kids and facing some life-threatening illnesses in my close family, I'm still a daily runner but I'm now inspired by everyone who takes the first step toward finding their own path toward a healthier lifestyle. To anyone taking a risk and putting themselves out there at the gym or on the trails or on their local sidewalks, please know there are many of us who don't judge but rather we applaud your effort, whether it's on January 1, July 1, or any Monday of a new week, and believe in you.
