I've lived in CC DC a long time now, maybe 15 years.  If you're the kind of guy, and gal, that is going to pay the going rate in much of 20015, then you do not have a 9 to 4:45 job.  You don't take days here and there to play frisbee in the park, just 'cuz.  You don't announce that from here on out, you'll be coming in at 11 a.m. instead because you want to train properly for the triathalon next spring.

Of course there are exceptions, and old-timers who bought in 1985 for $137,000,  but by and large all my neighbors here in CC DC are lawyers and journalists and policy wonkers who work very long hours because they must.  I'm one of them and if I told my boss that I'm going to start taking 2 hour lunches to lift weights and get some sun, that would be the last week of my employment there.[/quote]
