Thanks[/quote] It is a tax on a payroll. I know. Not helpful. The employer pays a .62% tax on wages paid. If he pays 100,000 dollars in payroll, he pays $620 in tax to fund this program. If 10,000 is paid to a DC resident and 90,000 to a Md resident he still pays all 620. Who should benefit from that? DC resident employees or all of them? Like the employer paid premiums for unemployment, etc. If only DC residents benefit, why is it fair to tax payroll paid to Va or Md residents?[/quote]
