The ransom note, the elaborate knots, the garrote, the violation with the paint brush were all intended to make the death look like something it wasn't and something that a 9 year old child could not have done.

If this had just been an intended death caused by a 9 year old there is no way that all of this information about this family would have been put out there.  Most of us would never have heard of JonBenet.  That doesn't mean that the Ramseys lives would not have been forever turned inside and out...it just would have been a less public matter.[/quote]
