If posters would just REPORT the off topic troll, we could get this thread back on track.
Taylor should not have written a song referencing MTS then. MTS is on topic. Doesn’t matter. Her album is mostly forgotten at this point. Too bad she can’t get along with her past producer, Joe Alwyn. If she acts at the next Grammys like she did at the last Grammys, I feel bad for all involved.
It’s forgotten because there are no catchy hit songs. Sure, she milked her crazies to buy all the variants of the album to juke the charts, but there are zero great songs for casuals to want to replay over and over.
I hear the album's songs quite a bit. Just heard Opalite in a group exercise class. Hear Fate if Ophelia at a coffee shop. This is how Taylor's music always is. Her songs are rarely pop juggernauts that just take over. Rather, they earworm their way into public consciousness and then it's like they were always there. And now my mom, who has never bought a Taylor Swift album in her life, will hum along to it. The album has done fine. The variants were for suckers but the album itself is having a pretty standard TS life cycle.
