The Washington Post has Oakton ranked #5 in the DMV, ahead of SSSA, Stone Ridge, St. John’s, and Paul VI.
What a joke SR and PVI would crush them
Yes the WP sports reporters don’t know a thing about girls hs lacrosse and the rankings clearly show that. WP in this case is not to be respected. They highlight SSSA and Yorktown always because they are so not with the current vibes in Dc metro lacrosse. I mean who cares that Jenny tran had an acl injury does that mean her team gets empathy votes because she can’t train with them ?? And so tired of Kathy Jenkins. Boring.
Kathy Jenkins is one of the most respected coaches in the game of girls lacrosse for decades. She has won numerous championships, been nationally ranked, and graduated many athletes to play in top college programs. No other coach has matched her entire coaching career’s success in the DMV. That is FACT. Thank you for your insecure opinion about TWP rankings #teamKJforever Next troll please!
OK SSSA parent. Yes, she has been around the block but let's have news stories on NEWS not on an old coach rebuilding her elitist school's club team.
SSSA is elitist? That’s news to me. So you pay money and that makes your school elitist. KJ is overrated. The school attracts the talent based on their history. Has nothing to do with the coach. Put KJ in charge of Wakefield and let’s see how she does there. Same reason why Bucky left Langley, he left when he saw the incoming talent was falling off.
Isn’t that the job of a coach, the joy of coaching, to have a challenge each year with new kids coming in and learning/teaching/molding/meshing together a team? And in doing so, being successful and having wins or getting them to work as one unit? If you’re just a coach hopping from one power house to the next, what are you really teaching or learning? KJ has coaches decades of talented players, sent countless ones to further the future of the sport. Her wisdom and knowledge of the game is emmense, most definitely more than anyone on this board (especially all the wonderful dads furiously typing constantly on this board, who by the way, have never played this sport). Players might be paying to go to her program, for all the above, but then take into account the hs coaches who have stuck with programs for years and years and years and believe in the longer outcome regardless of short term talent. That’s who should be respected and celebrated. More positivity and celebration doesn’t ever take away from anyone, but that might be lost on many as this board seems to show.
