No-but I would argue that those types of people could provide a unique spin and empathy to those particular instances you cited.

I’d like to clarify my argument.  Christiano Ronaldo and Leo Messi are probably best players in world, and probably won’t be great managers.  Maradona was amazing, and horrible manager.  Zidane amazing player, and great manager.  I bet Xavi will be amazing manager.

Managing a team takes particular skills, just like being a youth coach.  Same with individual trainer.  Amazing players will probably be amazing trainers, but amazing coaches are what your kid needs.  Soccer is so complex, your kid will likely never be able to grasp everything.  But an amazing coach will be able to maximize the most of your kid.  Give a great coach a fat kid, he can make him play.  Give a great player a fat kid with no touch, it could be a struggle.

Problem with so many American youth coaches: they simply reapply what they were taught.  And US Soccer doesn’t teach soccer in its licensing courses.[/quote]
