There's no rule that says only surfers are allowed to wear them.

I am in decent shape and wear one whenever I swim for exactly the reason PP mentioned - it's UPF50 so I don't have to wear sunscreen. Regular t-shirts don't provide the same sun protection and UPF t-shirts get clingy and uncomfortable when wet. Having a skintight rashguard gives the benefits of UPF clothing with the comfort of a garment that's designed to be worn in the water.

I hate Vance and absolutely think he's a weirdo, but not for wearing a rashguard. [/quote]
