what is TF contract this year?
No more TF contract. All of the coaches are GFR employees now. Exactly as it was planned by MN and RS when they made the agreement for GFR to absorb DMV’s coaches, players and technical staff. It was honestly a great move for everyone involved and the benefit to GFR will be felt for years to come
While NM and ML coaches at BSC too? The GFR 2014G were “training” with the BSC 2014G in the fall at their indoor facility so the BSC coach can get a look and identify players. But I’m sure it will benefit GFR for years! No conflict of interest there. 2015G picked clean this past year due to NM drama, 2014G picked clean the year before with new coach ML drama. 2016G and 2017G RS and NM hate on FA coaching drama. Yes great foundation for years to come for GFR. BSC, MCLN, ARL, and LOUD thank GFR very very much.
The 2014G team that were "picked clean" according to you are 2nd in their table in pre-ECNL. ML must really be one of the best coaches in nova.
Try tied for second with Valor. Not one big club team is even playing in this “power” league. ARL? LOUD? Not even MCLN. Looks like win padding vs low hanging fruit to anyone who knows the soccer landscape. Second bracket at WAGS and still can’t win. Yes that is best coach in nova material. Pathetic.
Actually ARL, VDA, and Richmond (and several other VA teams that top out at NL) are in the league. Think they probably count as “big club teams.” LOUD and MCLN aren’t bc they are off playing GA bunnies instead of real competition. Tied for second is still second. And the team was in the top bracket in WAGS, made the final, and was in a 0-0 final against a highly ranked PGH team, lost in sudden death penalties on the 6th shooter, essentially a coin toss. This all can be easily confirmed on GotSport. But I guess you never let facts get in the way of your agenda. That you are so desperate to push your agenda that you need to make up facts about a team of 10 &11 y.o. kids I think shows everyone how reliable your judgement is.
They were not in the top bracket which was "CUP". They were in "A' beneath Cup (the WAGS tournament website will confirm that). Yes the ARL is in your league oh but wait..they are U11! I guess reading is not fundamental where you come from. Oh and you did lose to Valor and Richmond both 1st and 2nd, so again go beat on the low hanging fruit and call yourself the best coach ever. Doesnt change the fact many players left months after ML and the team since.
Someone seems to have a thing about the TF coaches but I’ve seen NM, ML, JG, JB, and TV first hand. No coach is perfect but collectively they were a great get for GFR. They care about individual development over winning and develop the girls to play a possession style game that will serve them well at older ages instead of trying to win with kickball. If the club has to make a choice between them and the RP holdovers I know who I’d pick.
So disingenuous. Nobody has mentioned “TF coaches” except for you. People have a problem with the director(s) collecting big salaries while spending substantial time away coaching for an unaffiliated club. When the TF contract was terminated, where were NM and ML? One was on the west coast the other was on the other side of the planet, both coaching another club’s teams. What club in their right mind would be okay with their TD and DOC, on the first weekend in April with spring soccer kicking into high gear, to be off coaching for another club??? The whole setup is a joke.
Not this again, lol. Let it go. Yes, NM and ML were coaching FVU teams that weekend. Both have won more ECNL playoff games that the the rest of the GFR staff combined. If you want high-level ECNL coaches at GFR at the moment, you have to share them with an ECNL-NL program. Players and parents on the teams they coach (two of the best girls teams in the club) appear happy. Their teams play possession-based, smart, soccer. They are examples of things that are going right at GFR. If my DD had a chance to play with either of them I would do everything I could to make it happen.
The “coaches” you refer to were hired as DIRECTORS. You have Stockholm Syndrome or some kind of cuckold mindset to find this acceptable.
Let’s just forget for one second that directors at almost all clubs are also coaching NL teams. Yes I know that is usually in the same club or through an affiliation. But it is no secret that GFR is working on that affiliation. But again let’s forget that. ML, as a board member or when you took over the organization, did you ask NM or ML (the one with more then zero wins) to only coach in GFR or even if they would just coach teams and not be directors? ML (the one that won more games last weekend then you did the whole year- the same year that you thought your loser opinions needed to be forced upon all families that did not sign up for your leadership) is not the Director of coaching this year so changes could have been made with this little thing called conversations. I’m sure those conversations could have happened right here on DCUM since maturity is not your thing.
