If the second consultants were told, "Chantilly HS is overcrowded, Westfield needs students"--the most obvious solution to that problem is to find the closest "Chantilly" zoned ES to Westfield and move that area over. You don't need a conspiracy theory to see how they arrived at that proposed map.
Agree but also they're not from this area so they don't know that the number of mile away from something is very different from the number of minutes away from something, nor do they know that there are no residential neighborhoods between Lees Corner and Westfield neighborhoods.
You don't think the 25 year old consultants know how to use google maps "estimated travel time" feature? Their opinion --that it made complete and utter sense to move Lees Corner--differed from yours. That's ok. You aren't entitled to your own facts, though. The fact is that some of the Chantilly areas up for grabs to be moved are closer in miles AND minutes than some of the Centreville areas up for grabs. In fact it seems like both coming to and from school, Chantilly kids would be going in the opposite direction of commuter traffic, whereas the Centreville kids would be going longer distances in miles and WITH commuter traffic on Route 28 both ways, so that would really suck for them.
