Yep. There is zero political pressure to get anything done. And now that the military is getting paid, that removes another pressure point.

It's basically up to the Air Traffic Controllers. When they decide to check out from their high pressure jobs because they need to do something else to pay the mortgage, it's over.

So basically, we are all waiting for Air Traffic Controllers to break for Congress to do their damn job.

Other feds are going to have to figure something out if this is still going in a couple months.  And lots of contracts that were funded for a month or two past Oct. 1 will start running out of money. The people who make the social security and Medicare checks go out will stop coming in.  The contractors who do all the maintenance at military bases, including fixing planes and helicopters and vehicles will stop coming in.  [/quote]
