17 bedrooms is probably because she  has a live in chef,  hair and makeup artist, a live in nanny, assistant, driver, security  . It’s a whole  situation at her house . He didn’t like her either. He never wanted to marry her but she was pregnant .  In 2003/2004, She was a married woman divorcing Scott Foley, dating Vartan who she met during Alias  , then  flirting with Ben after they met filming  Daredevil in December 2003.

He was just fresh out of the engagement days before the wedding  with Jennifer . He was not looking to marry soon[/quote]
