Years ago, on this forum, I had described Affleck as a deadbeat and some woman—most likely a white woman—, was quick to point out that he couldn't possibly be a dead beat because he was worth ...whatever amount I can't remember. I thought to myself : 'it's precisely this kind of cluelessnes and desperation for male attention on women's part that breeds the Afflecks of tomorrow'. A dead beat is someone who continuously shirks his responsibilities—social, marital, professional. Financial , etc—in favor of questionable self gratifying and sometimes illegal acts. He's manifestedly not a family guy , never been . Worse, he couldn't even be bothered to have a discussion with his then wife about the number of kids they wanted to have as it's clearly been a point of friction that contributed to the breakdown of the marriage .This was pure cowardice . As an actress and even a person —though, admittedly I don't know her —, Jennifer garner does nothing for me , absolutely nothing. However, if we're being objective , it's hard not to see her as the grown up here . Until Affleck proves he was held at gun point and forced to marry her , he's just proving himself to be the idiot he's always been.Adulthood requires that one chooses its own path in life and make decisions independently. And herein lies the problem . It was obvious from the get go—at least to some of us—that, this union was a mismatch of two entirely different people. Garner and Affleck really have nothing in common. He allowed PR machines and potentially racist family members to influence a choice that quite frankly should've been made by none other than himself . This union should've never happened . Therefore , all things considered, why would anyone be surprised that a deadbeat of his caliber fails to show any contrition and instead plays the victim by arguing that he felt trapped ?
