How unusual is it that Blake is delaying the depositions? I’m not the pro-JBer who kept saying she should settle, but I do genuinely believe she doesn’t want to go through with this lawsuit.
I don't think postponing it once is that big of a deal. If you look at the emails that are getting posted on the docket, some of Wayfarer's clients are not even making themselves available until late July/early August which is after Blake's postponed depo date, so theoretically they are less available than she is. I thought June 23rd was good for her because they didn't have to turn over all the documents by then so they would have less material to work with (if there are damaging emails or texts for example, if Freedman didn't have them by the 23rd, he wouldn't be able to question her about them). But it's clearly very important to her to see the video footage because she doesn't want to get caught in a lie again. Her lawyers have been very clear (maybe too obvious) how much she needs to see that video footage before her deposition. The Wayfarer letter is very good and snarky on that point, that she edited the whole movie, after all, and was present for all of the harassment, so what's the big deal? And they pointed out it would be unethical for her to mold her testimony to what the videos show and that in some cases they could even ask that the video not be given until after her deposition. So, for now I am thinking that is legitimately the reason that she didn't want to be deposed in June. She'd have to delay a bunch more times for me to think she doesn't intend to move forward with the lawsuit at all. And I doubt Sarowitz will pay her to drop the lawsuit. She might drop it for a public apology if she gets to basically dictate it and have it say she is totally right and everyone else is wrong but Baldoni won't agree to that.
