It’s ludicrous to criticize Bass for being where our president asked her to be before the fires, while giving a pass to CA Congress Critters who abandoned their state with the fires raging  to go to Mar-a-Lago[/quote]

She could have cancelled. She could have backed out, saying it was too risky to leave her city at this potentially critical moment. Bass is getting substantial criticism in California right now from Democrats themselves. Major difference between a mayor of a city under possible threat and a congressman from a district far away.
