You all are really shortsighted. Every major school district has a high end performing arts magnet. Duke Ellington etc. There are jobs, many jobs in entertainment. Ever been to LA, NY?
It would be nice to have a performing arts school but the arts aren't at Duke Ellington which is an issue. Most of the high performers are in private groups. I wouldn't send my high-performing kids to an arts magnet without the academics.
Baltimore School for the Arts, LaGuardia Hugh School in NY We are so behind here. They will have APs at Woodward and yes there will be enough kids to populate those. And guess what - colleges love kids who do performing arts. They actually aren’t looking for every kid who takes multi variable calculus and does nothing else.
these kids end up living in their parent's basement. get real people.
