Pennsylvania is a “closed primary” state. In order to vote in the primary election, voters must be registered with a political party. Unaffiliated or independent voters are not able to participate in the primary.

The shooter, who donated to Act Blue, registered as a republican to vote in PA republican primacies up and down ballot.

The shooter donated to Act Blue and tried to assassinate Trump.

PA has closed primaries and if this guy was so obsessed with Trump and republicans that he would attempt to assassinate Trump knowing full well he would be killed as be did so, he could have registered as  republican to try to influence republican primaries in PA.[/quote]
