Steve Kornacki has the breakdown of what McCarthy needs:

Also in this scenario (all 434 in attendance), McCarthy could win by getting one of the holdouts to vote for him + 1 other to vote “present” and the other 4 defecting. Would be 217-212-4-1 and the magic number would be 217.[/i]
