I agree with you and your DD.  The best way to counter lies is to refuse to engage.  If you repeat the lie you only embed it in people’s minds more.  So it could go like this:

Trump: lie lie lie lie lie lie lie

Kamala: No, Donald.  *Moves on to her point.*[/quote]

I generally believe that too, but do you remember Obama's first debate against Romney? Romney was stating all sorts of lies about healthcare (ironic bc he basically brought a version of the ACA to Massachusetts) but Obama didn't engage and it was a mistake. I don't know what the right thing is anymore in this weird political climate, but given the way the media is, the subtle or limited responses may not be enough.[/quote]
