I use the word undocumented because they are human beings, regardless of what they have done. I do not call a murderer an 'illegal person.'

You call a murderer a criminal. "Illegal" is short for "Illegal Alien", not "Illegal Person". This is in contrast to "Legal Alien", which is an abbreviated description for a foreign national who lawfully entered into the United States and who has a current lawful status to remain. It doesn't really matter what you think a word means, it matters what the word actually means in the context of its usage. [/quote]

I am aware of all that. I still believe its unnecessarily derogatory. Undocumented means literally the same thing. I don't know why it bothers the other side so much that a slightly more humanizing term is used. I would not object to you calling them criminals.[/quote]
