1) The Democrats love micromanaging with a large federal government. The EPA is one example of this. The EPA writes more and more regulations making farmers' jobs more difficult. When they write new rules, they do not consider the impact that it will have on rural America. The larger the government becomes, the more it impedes economic growth. A message to the EPA: Get out of the way and let the farmers do their job. Some regulation is okay. But, the amount of regulation is getting ridiculous.

2) The new death tax (40%, no more valuation discount): This is not good for family owned farms/businesses

3) Rural America demographics: They own more property and they are largely self-employed. Republican policies are better for small businesses, self-employed, and owners of land.
