[/quote] You are fooling yourself if you think UVA can't figure out which applicants are in the top 10% even if the school system doesn't rank. UVA and most selective colleges assign admissions officers on a geographic basis and it is each officer's job to know the ins and outs of each of the high schools in their area. The UVA admissions people know how a student with a 4.0 compares to a student with a 4.25 in each of their high schools and which ones are in the top 10%. Arlington doesn't rank either and neither does my DS's private high school in DC. UVA figures it out regardless.[/quote] Yup.[/quote]
