i don't know- i'm going to vote for her, and I certainly don't think she's 'evil'  but i found the way that she said the cookie thing to be quite demeaning and rude. Its also ironic since her own daughter has chosen to be very lukewarm professionally.

i was just a kid when that came out but it felt like she was shitting all over my own mom- who is a huge supporter- b/c she chose to stay home. I also realize that for feminists of that era it was difficult believe that women could knowingly and happily make sahm a choice. Also its a bit classist- my parents were the first generation that had to work to support themselves as opposed to living off of family $ and that doesn't make my forbearers lazy or entitled or whatever, it just made it unlikely that anyone would think working anything but an imposition regardless of what you did or your gender. I stay home and make cookies with  my kids and find it quite nice, its an easy sacrifice i make for my kids- until they are full time in school it doesn't mean i'm mentally deficient or stuck in an abusive situation. Frankly my husband treats me a 1000000 X better than hers has treated her in public.  I also find women who advocate feminist positions and then say' its complicated' when they are in the same situations to be slightly annoying.
