All of the DCUM speculation around Hardy makes it sound inaccessible, but it's really a pretty small school and the principal is very easy to reach if you wanted to and try.

Principal Pride routinely goes to the PTA meetings of the Hardy feeder schools -- and they did an 'intent' survey for this year's 5th graders (and they do 'shadow' visit days for the students to go see the school too.  You can actually even go trick or treat there one day the week before Halloween too).  The actual enrollment numbers won't be in for any school until fall/later this year.  (Many of the elementaries start positing their class lists soon, and will give a sense of how many returning 5th graders for each of the feeders (as a predictor of the 17-18 potential uptick) but of course some are on waiting lists for other places and won't be final numbers.  Middle schools don't have the same class assignment dynamics, so they aren't posted early like that (not at Deal either).

There were some early indications that this year's incoming 6th could be as high as 20-30% IB and 50-60 feeder... but too soon to know.  Principal Pride does actually report the numbers when she visits schools or does open houses.  [/quote]
