Hope so and its about time.
+1000 I mean, can anyone think of a reason why not??!?
Yeah I don't want to lose my daughter to a senseless death, nor do I want her to be around men who have no respect for humanity.
So many things wrong with this statement. The military is why you live such a privileged pampered life here. Do you know how rampant wars were? These people sacrifice themselves to keep you and your family safe and you call them without humanity? As for losing your daughter to a senseless death, I am sure all those families with sons really wanted their boys to be drafted. No one wants their children to go to war, when it happens it's a tragedy for all. So basically it's ok to scream about equal wages (usually not equal work), and whinge and moan about air conditioning as a patriarchy tactic and what not. But when it comes to a true test of sacrifice and equality all bets are off. Hypocritical.
Not hypocritical. Women already sacrifice when it comes to pregnancy, childbearing and childbirth. This is the sacrifice we make for humanity and for our country. Men don't do anything on this front besides stick it in. Sure women can be drafted but in a real war, women will be at home. Someone has to have children and raise children. Only women can have babies. Men are physically unable to do so. And it only takes one man to impregnable hundreds of women.
Cool. A draft deferment because you can have babies (whether you actually choose to or not).
+1 so all those strong independent women who have to go to grad school and mold heir minds to prepare for being a mom (discussions from other dcum threads) suddenly can't be drafted because they could have babies. Falling back on old sexist arguments.
